Divorce Decree apostille in Florida
Remarrying abroad, updating immigration status, or proving a name change overseas can require an apostilled divorce decree. A Florida notary cannot copy-certify a court divorce decree — but we apostille the clerk-certified copy so it's recognized in another country.
// the florida rule
Can a Florida notary certify a copy of a divorce decree?
No — but here's what we can do.
No — a divorce decree is a court record. Only the clerk of the court that entered it can issue a certified copy, and a notary cannot attest to a copy of a court record. You obtain the certified (clerk-stamped) copy from the courthouse, and we apostille that certified copy for use abroad.
// what we can do
We can't copy-certify a divorce decree — but we apostille it for use abroad.
Need your divorce decree recognized in another country?
An apostille is the only thing that makes a foreign government accept it. We handle the right authority — state or federal — track it end-to-end, and add a certified translation when the destination country needs one.
// how it works
From certified copy to apostille.
Get the certified copy
Order the agency-certified copy (vital-records office, court clerk, or registrar) — we'll tell you exactly which one and how.
We authenticate it
We submit it to the correct authority — the Florida Secretary of State for state documents, or the U.S. Department of State for federal ones.
Accepted abroad
You get the apostilled document back, optionally with a certified translation, ready for the destination country. We track it the whole way.
// honest pricing
What a divorce decree costs.
from $150 per document, all-in (state/federal fees + handling)

Do I need the clerk's certified copy, or is my own copy enough?
For an apostille you need the court clerk's certified copy — the one bearing the clerk's seal and signature. We then apostille that. A plain photocopy can't be apostilled and a notary can't certify it.
The decree needs to be in another language abroad — can you handle that?
Yes. We apostille the certified decree and add a certified translation so the foreign authority gets a complete, accepted set. Common for remarriage and immigration files.
